Coffee in hand, summer garden exploring, Catholic engagement session? Yes. Please. Savannah and I tossed around a few location ideas for their engagement session but when she said coffee and bible studies had played a huge role in the beginnings of Michael and her relationship, that made the decision easy. We put together this Franklin Catholic Coffee House engagement session.
She suggested the cutest coffee place in Thompson’s Station, TN that came with a mansion to explore, and some lovely garden areas, basically everything you could want in an engagement session location.

We met up at the cafe, ordered coffees, and tried out a few different tables. I love getting to experiment with different angles as my couples get to just sit and enjoy their drinks, no big posing needed. It’s a great way to ease into the photo session (and fuel up for the rest of the session!)

I got to see the beautiful rosary that Michael gifted Savannah and they laughed and pointed out Bible verses.

We did a little exploring at Homestead Manor and found the brightest staircase. Each room is gorgeously decorated. The highlight was definitely the big upstairs porch.

We braved the humidity and spent the rest of the session outside in the gardens dancing and laughing in the heat. One thing about humidity like that day, is that for as uncomfortable as it can be, it provides the most gorgeous background haze for portraits.

These two were SO MUCH fun to hang out with on a July evening. From a Franklin Catholic coffee house engagement session to the Cathedral, I absolutely can’t wait to keep getting to know them and then photograph their beautiful wedding at The Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Knoxville, TN next May.

Madeline is a Catholic wedding photographer based out of Nashville, Tennessee serving the beautiful Southeastern United States. She uses a documentary-focused approach to capture the beauty, joy, and holiness that is intrinsic to each and every wedding day.
