Cozy Cookeville Engagement: Cheyenne & Fez

February 4, 2025

Cheyenne and Fez’s cozy Cookeville, Tennessee coffee house engagement session was TOO GOOD to keep to myself anymore so here it is, y’all. Two pieces of advice that I share with my couples as we plan out their engagement session is:

  1. Let’s build the session around an activity you love doing (keeps things flowing easily and comfortably and makes your engagement session YOU)
  2. Be open to braving less-than-ideal weather (not always possible but can make for a fun, creative, and unique session)

This engagement session is EXACTLY why I encourage those two things.

There was no rain in the forecast, but when we met up at our original outdoor location it was drizzly and freezing so we looked at each other and said “Coffee first.”

Poet’s Coffee and Cookeville, Tennessee were two of the backdrops of their dating relationship so it made perfect sense to start at the coffee shop to warm up and then spend the rest of the morning exploring the Cookeville square.

I probably could have spend the whole session at Poet’s because of the cozy light, giant window, and delicious coffee. It was so fun to say “just…get coffee” and then after everyone got warmed up go through some easy prompts.

After coffee, we ventured out into the light rain to find some great backdrops on the square. A lamp store, the courthouse steps, and the Cookeville Arcade all delivered.

This was, for me, the quintessential January engagement session and I absolutely can’t wait to see these two again very soon for their wedding at St. Mary’s out in Oak Ridge, Tennessee!
