Small weddings are simply the best. So often I hear from my couples that they are keeping things low-key and intimate and they always say it to me with a little bit of hesitation. Let me tell you, I get so excited for them! I could probably write a whole blog post just on the joys of an intimate wedding but I’ll leave it at that and introduce the Cabreras! Fez and Cheyenne had their sweet convalidation ceremony on a lovely February afternoon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
We started at their home where Cheyenne, her little guy, and her mother all got ready. Homes make such beautiful places to get ready for a wedding because of how well they center the mind and heart for the day ahead.

We then moved to St. Mary’s where the couple had their first look in front of the church and Cheyenne gave Fez a pin to wear inside his jacket that included several meaningful saint medals. Catholic brides, this is one of my FAVORITE ways to incorporate some intentional Catholic details in your day. Then they had a first look with their little guy and enjoyed some sweet family time.

After that, the ceremony started! And it was lovely. St. Mary’s is such a gorgeous Tennessee Catholic church. And side note, if you want some more reading into the Christiological symbolism of the pelican on their altar, it’s beautiful.

After the ceremony and family photos, we moved to the Olde Towne Inn where we took some portraits, had some first dances, ate some delicious fajitas, and visited with the guests.

Intentionality was *key* to Cheyenne and Fez’s day and it was such a blessing to witness.
