We will take any chance we can get to travel out to East Tennessee to photograph weddings and I am absolutely obsessed with Savannah and Michael’s Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart Knoxville wedding. From finishing touches at the Embassy Suites in downtown Knoxville, to a rainy arrival at the Cathedral for their traditional Catholic wedding, to a sunny intimate dinner at The Lonesome Dove, this wedding radiated joy, grace, and style. I met these two over the summer for their engagement session and immediately fell in love with this beautiful couple.

Getting Ready at the Knoxville Embassy Suites
Savannah, her parents, her sisters, and her best friend and maid of honor all got ready at the Embassy Suites in downtown Knoxville. It rained all morning and we got the most beautiful diffused lighting for portraits. Savannah looked like the most elegant princess. Everyone exchanged gifts and shed tears which was a beautiful way to start this wedding day.

Catholic Wedding Mass at The Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart
Olympus Car and Coach got everybody to the Cathedral safe and dry. This was our first visit to this Cathedral and we are obsessed. Their wedding Mass was transcendent. Savannah and Michael exchanged vows and received communion surrounded by stunning holy images and the love of their family and friends.

Traditional church exits are my FAVORITE. This is a great way to get those joyful exit photos if you aren’t doing a grand exit at the end of your reception. Traditional church exits are also great for the colors and sunlight, which pairs perfectly with spring and summer weddings.

We took full advantage of this beautiful church for Catholic bridal portraits. Churches are so central to Catholic weddings that taking even a couple portraits inside is a must.

The Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart also has this beautiful fountain outside. The direct sunlight made for some stunning veil photographs.

Reception at the Lonesome Dove in Downtown Knoxville
Cocktail hour at The Lonesome Dove was bright, colorful, and full of delicious food and drinks. I absolute loved these custom drink menus and the appetizers were delicious.

They had a sit down plated dinner followed by speeches and more socializing.

We are still in love with this Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart Wedding and are so grateful we get to work with beautiful and genuine people like Savannah and Michael and an incredible team of vendors.
