Sewanee University of the South Engagement | Kayla & Martin

April 23, 2026

Kayla and Martin’s Sewanee University of the South engagement session was such a dream. I absolutely loved getting to visit the University of the South and it’s beautiful architecture. Even more though, I loved getting to meet this lovely couple and learn about their relationship as we visited different spots around campus that mean so much to each of them.

Martin is a multi-generational Sewanee graduate and has a deep passion for this school and its history. Since his family home is not far from the school, Sewanee was the backdrop to much of their relationship.

All of the historical stonework around gave this session such a timeless and elegant feel. These two had a classic style which made it so easy to get an elevated engagement album.

We started around the school, taking advantage of the architecture to create a classical, almost Ralph Lauren feeling.

Then we moved to a couple overlooks on each side of campus for more space and amazing views.

Golden hour in the mountains made for a beautiful sunset and the March weather was perfect. I loved all the blooms throughout campus.

This large cross is a campus landmark and also where Martin proposed to Kayla.

It is always such a joy whenever I can get into the mountains or out to East Tennessee to photograph beautiful love stories.

This Sewanee University of the South engagement session was the perfect way to kick off my Spring wedding season. I can’t wait to see these two again this Fall at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul for their Chattanooga Catholic Wedding.
