Should I get a photographer for my intimate Catholic wedding? The answer is always a resounding YES. Savannah and Tanner’s intimate Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Ann’s in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee is the PERFECT example of why yes.

Even if it’s just for an hour or two. Even if there’s no big reception immediately following. The sacrament of marriage and the exchanging of vows in front of Christ, your close family, and each other, is DESERVING of beautiful photography. I love when my couples trust me with this task.

Savannah and Tanner had their short and simple Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Ann’s Catholic Church (one of my favorites!) in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. It was a beautiful, rainy, and emotional ceremony that was an honor to photograph.

These are always some of my favorite weddings that I get to photograph: short, sweet, and loaded with intention and meaning.

We started with family portraits and a few portraits of Savannah in her gorgeous gown.

They saved their first look for the aisle and it was so worth it: tearful, emotional, and filled with so much joy.

The rest of the ceremony was simple, holy, and Christ-centered.

After the ceremony, we did a few rainy portraits by a big glass door there at St. Ann’s. This was a fun challenge because it was raining too hard to go outside. The sanctuary lighting wasn’t ideal for posed portraits. The space we had to use was small. I was SO EXCITED about how these turned out. Very dreamy. Afterwards, we said goodbye and they went off and enjoyed dinner and a celebration with their close family!

Short (by Catholic standards anyway, ha!) sweet, with all the most important and beautiful parts of the wedding day. These weddings are so near and dear to my photojournalistic photography heart.
