St. Mary’s of the Seven Sorrows Nashville Catholic Wedding | Kimberly & Shane

Kimberly and Shane’s traditional Catholic wedding at St. Mary’s in Nashville was one of the most inspiring weddings MOP photographed this Spring.

Their wedding was the definition of simple, elegant, and focused on all the right things: Christ, each other, and spending time with close loved ones.

We met for the first time last March for their engagement session at Ellington Agricultural Center. They have great down-to-earth spirits and lovely chemistry with each other. I knew from their beautiful engagement session, their wedding day would be amazing, too.

Photography arrived at St. Mary’s a half hour before Mass started. I took that time to capture some really beautiful church detail portraits for their album.

After that, I met their family members downstairs where everyone was visiting and getting ready for Mass. There was no staging and no posing. It was just Kimberly and her family thoughtfully preparing for the sacrament ahead.

Everyone moved upstairs and settled in.

Then, the most reverent and intimate Catholic Wedding Mass began.

We followed Mass with lots of joyful candids and family portraits. I love using the time around altar family portraits to get lots of fun photography of all the close family interacting with each other.

We took 10 minutes for portraits of Kimberly and Shane before they joined their family for a sweet reception dinner at Maggiano’s.

After this wedding, I designed a set of collections specifically for smaller Catholic weddings. Altar Hours are collections for couples who aren’t interested in the extra costs and logistics of large weddings. These collections keep the focus on what’s important, uplifting and honoring the vocation of marriage.

Intimate weddings are so beautiful and grounding and it was such an honor to be present for Kimberly and Shane’s.
