Ana reached out to me on Instagram about having me out to Jackson, Tennessee to do their engagement session. I’d absolutely love to get out to West Tennessee more (looking at you Memphis brides!)
When I met her and her fiancé Jonathan, it was so clear why they picked the location they did! Ana and Jonathan were such a joy to meet and work with and their love of Christ, Mary, and each other shown through with this session.

They are getting married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, TN this November and chose to do their engagement session at the same place. I loved how meaningful and intentional this decision was: a location that was central to their relationship, past and future.

Home churches are so, so important to our life stories. I will always be a photographer who encourages getting married somewhere that personally means something to you and your soon-to-be spouse. Cathedrals and basilicas provide stunning backdrops, but the churches that hold our families, encourage our love, and give us rest add such meaning and depth to wedding days and the photography surrounding them.

This engagement session had the practical advantage of giving them an idea of how the light could look the morning of their wedding day, what wedding portrait posing would feel like, and of course, a gorgeous gallery that celebrates their engagement!
